This week, one of my very best friends gave birth to a baby boy at 33 weeks. But he was born sleeping.
I got a message from her at 2am Tuesday morning saying that they have lost bub and they have to induce labour.
I was absolutely heartbroken. Not just because this is a tragic and unfair birth, but because I felt so much pain for my lovely friend. I felt helpless.
I immediately looked up any literature, websites, documentaries and resources on this issue. As it turns out, there’s not much out there in the way of awareness.
I want to start to get involved in educating people on this matter as I don’t think it’s talked about enough.
So if anyone has any info about this, I want to know so message me.
I found a documentary called The Deafening Silence (on YouTube). It’s a heartbreaking look at the parents’ side.
There’s also an Australian organisation called StillBirth Foundation.
If there are anymore resources please message me or reblog and add it.
Thank you for reading.
